What Kind of Child of God Are You?

Are you a people pleasing Child of God?

Are you a work-harder-than-everyone-else-to-prove-your-worth Child of God?

Are you a Child of God who isn’t good enough?

Are you a Child of God who compares yourself to others?

Are you a keeping up with the Jones’ Child of God?

How do you define yourself in this cruel, falling apart, sinful world?

Friends, here is the truth that will set you free. Are you ready? John 8:32 (ESV) says, “and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free”. That truth is JESUS with a capital J. John 14:6 tells us that Jesus is THE way, THE truth and THE life (emphasis mine).

Our Father in Heaven doesn’t define what kind of child of God you are. You are simply that, His Child.

He has already rescued you from sin, death and an eternity in hell. He loved you all the way to the Cross. He died with you in mind! You are loved unconditionally by the One who created YOU.

God doesn’t define you by your mistakes, so if you are letting yourself or others define you that way, say hello to the predator Satan. He works tirelessly to get you to believe those lies that are playing on repeat in your mind – the lies that tell you that you aren’t a good enough wife, or a good enough Mom, or a good enough Christian, etc. – all Satan. God doesn't define you that way, so why should you? God our Father thinks you are to die for!

Next time you look in the mirror, look at those eyes that are staring back at you. Those are the eyes of a Child of THE one True God! Now THAT is a defining moment that you can count on to set you free.
